We have had three fantastic sales to date, raising over £9,000 for Fortuneswell Cancer Trust.  When February arrives we will change the contents of the Chapel to a wonderful bazaar of lovely ladies’ (yes the ladies are indeed very lovely!!!!) clothes, shoes and accessories – books as well! Every penny raised will go local charities

Handmade for Christmas 2012 onwards…

Has been going for 7 years this Christmas!

(see Handmade for Christmas Page for more info)

Wednesday 1st November – Sunday 31st December, 10.30 am – 4.30 pm

In November and December each year the Chapel becomes the most wonderful Christmas shopping venue – a selling exhibition of hand-crafted work from 60+ of the West Country’s finest makers and artists plus one or two from further afield. This is definitely not the average craft show! Browse amongst the most tempting of treats – you will surely want to buy a present for yourself as well as unique and beautiful things for those you love! Jewellery and lovely scarves for the ladies – silver cufflinks, leather belts and hats, metalwork and handmade boxes for the men – even hand-made teddy bears for the young at heart;  artwork to adorn your walls – sculpture and ceramics – hand made baskets  – and so much more.

This event was the first of its kind in the Workhouse Chapel and was huge success. It featured work for sale from word-paper-book-obsessed makers and artists. A series of workshops covering topics such as Papier Mache, Book Binding and Altered Books. The Library (No ‘Shhhhhhh-ing’ here!)  had a range of paper, word and book themed books! There were also take part activities that people could participate in for free as they sat with Rose (the Chapel owner) and had a cup of tea! Details of the exhibitors below.
